Essie Atkinson Jackson, 87, formerly of Goldsboro, died Thursday, July 28, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
The funeral was held Monday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Johnson officiate. Burial was in Old Mill Cemetery.
The viewing was held on Sunday from 3 until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. The family received friends there on Sunday evening from 7 until 8, and other times at the home of Sharon Worrell, 106 BJ Drive.
