ARTHUR STUART JR

Arthur Dan "Danny" Stuart Jr was born Aug. 9, 1947, and died Wednesday June 15, 2005, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.

He attended and graduated from Douglass High School in Warsaw. He was employed at National Spinning, Inc., in Warsaw; Kelly Springfield Tire Company, in Fayetteville; Cumberland County School System; Rod & Gun Club, Ft. Bragg; and as a driver for a private contract mail carrier for the United States Postal Service.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Dan "A.D." Stuart Sr.; his paternal aunt, Alnora Stuart Granger; and his maternal aunt, Lula Vann Miller.

He is survived by two sons, Timothy James (Nancy) of Rosamond, Calif., and Arthur D. Stuart III (Cheryl) of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter, Connie Stuart-Ruddock (Andrew Sr.) of Fayetteville; his former wife and friend, Hazel James Stuart of Warsaw; his mother, Rosetta Vann Stuart of Warsaw; a brother, William A. Melvin of Las Vegas, Nev.; an adopted brother, Hollie "James" Lawrence of South Carolina; a sister, Wilma Hall of Knightdale; a paternal aunt, Almira Stuart Debnam of Baltimore, Md.; a paternal uncle, William Granger of Silver Springs, Md.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Warsaw 11 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
