ROBERT JAMES

WALLACE -- Robert James of Shaw Road died Tuesday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. today from St. John Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Franklin Faison officiating. Burial will follow in Duplin Memorial Gardens inTeachey. Matthews Funeral Service of Wallace is in charge of the arrangements.

A native of Duplin County, Mr. James was born June 10, 1927 to the late Luther James and the late Ella Williams James Middlebrook.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Freeman James; six children, Robert Henry, Blondell, David Ellis, Doretha; two infant sons; two brothers, Walter Lee James and Willie James; and two sisters, Ella Mae Corbett and Christine Carter Wilson.

He is survivied by his children, Willie D. James of the home, Napolean James of New York, John E. James of Magnolia, A. Rydell James of Atlanta, Ga., Sheryl Cannon and Sharon Weeks, both of Raleigh, Eunice Melvin, Helen D. James, Rose Ann James, Kelvin James and Herbert L. James, all of Goldsboro; sisters, Lena Gladden of Wadesboro, Queen Chester and Marie Mathis of Magnolia, Lattie Carney of Beulaville, Jeannie Ruth Beatty of Willard; two brothers, Paul James and George James both of Rose Hill; 53 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
