NETTIE C. JERNIGAN
SNOW HILL -- Nettie Cunningham Jernigan died Friday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.
A native of Greene County, she was born August 22, 1916, to the late, Henry Guy and Ora Harrison Cunningham. Mrs. Jernigan attended the Arba School and was a member of Hull Road Free Will Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. The Rev. Leon Grubbs will officiate. Interment will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Jernigan; a son, James Guy Jernigan; a sister, Susan Cunningham Foyles; and a brother, Leonard Cunningham.
She is survived by her daughters, Ora J. Rouse and husband, Joe of Garner and Martha J. Sauls and husband, Ted of Snow Hill; her sons, Holden Jernigan of Emerald Isle and Hardy P. Jernigan and wife, Jackie of Snow Hill; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ormond Jernigan; her sisters, Ruthibee Cunningham of Kinston and Grace Cunning-ham Furr of Albermarle; and a brother, Percy Cunningham of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on this evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 1750 Hwy. 58 South, Snow Hill.
