DYGNA PYATT

Dygna Kornegay Pyatt, 93, formerly of Goldsboro, died Sunday at Ashe Living Center Nursing Home in Jefferson.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. Dr. Fred will Clarke officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Pyatt was born in Wayne County to the late Junie and Sally Herring Kornegay and was the widow of Edward Glenn Pyatt. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

She is survived by one son, Giles Pyatt, and his wife, Barbara, of West Jefferson; one daughter, Catherine Smith, and her husband, Jack, of Holden Beach; two brothers, Mosley Kornegay of Grantham and Barney Kornegay of Emerald Isle; four grandchildren, Michael Pyatt, Jennifer Simmons, Matt and Mark Smith; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Pyatt, and three brothers, Rexford, Joe, and Jack Kornegay.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home.
