LOUISE JERNIGAN POPE

Louise Jernigan Pope, 87, of Goldsboro and formerly of Grantham, died Friday.

Ms. Pope was a retiree of the Grantham School food service, where she was a 35 year employee.

A funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Jordan’s Chapel Baptist Church. The Reverends Jim Turbyfill and Frank Sandy will officiate. Burial will follow at the Church cemetery.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Lane of Fayetteville; seven nieces, Pat Rose, Imogene Jones, Donna Lane, Debbie Hawkes, Lynn Hartley, Ellen Massengill, and Joyce Strickland; four nephews, Johnnie Jernigan, Dennis Harrell, James Shelton Sutton, and Gary Lane.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Dallas Allen and Bill Pope; two sisters, Anna Harrell and Lydia Sutton; two brothers, Arnold and Otha Jernigan; and one nephew, Bill Harrell.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service, and other times at the residence of Pat and Dwight Rose, 5941 US Hwy. 13 S, in Grantham.
