LAYTON TEW

SELMA -- Layton Tew, 76, died Friday at his home.

He was born July 6, 1928, in Johnston County to the late Ransom Benjamin and Cora Beasley Tew. He was a U.S. Marine.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Parrish Funeral Home with the Revs. Dwight Dunning and Joe B. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Bizzell Grove Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Narron Tew; one son, Brian Tew of Princeton; three daughters, Glenda Underwood of Clayton, Wendy Tew of Benson, and Pam Deans of Selma; one brother, Benny Tew of Willow Springs; two sisters, Elsie Noles of Raleigh and Mae Beasley of Garner; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
