ELIZABETH CRUMPLER

Elizabeth "Lib" Turner Crumpler, 70, of 138 Rowe St., in the Belfast community, died Friday.

A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alice Hudson Turner. Mrs. Crumpler was a licensed practical nurse No. 2 and was retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and was active in the Alpha Circle.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Bailey, the Rev. Barry Williamson, and the Rev. Richard Glosson officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Miss. Crumpler is survived by her husband, Freeman Crumpler; one daughter, Kim Wells and husband, David of Pikeville; one son, Ricky Crumpler and wife, Jenny of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Nichole Wells and special friend Franklin "Bo" Goodson, Ken Dwayne Crumpler and wife, Jennifer, Chuck Freeman, Heather Marie Downes and husband, Clarence, and Matthew Trent Crumpler; three great-grandchildren, Clay Downes, Morgan Crumpler, and Taylor Downes; and two brothers, C. W. Turner, Jr. and wife, Christine of Patetown and David Turner and wife, Jo Ann of Wilmington.

Mrs. Crumpler was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Turner Waitley.

Pallbearers will be Ricky, Ken and Chuck Crumpler, Don Waitley, Hardy Gurley and Carl Kornegay.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home this evening from 7 until 9 and other times at the home.
