BORDEN J. BEST

PIKEVILLE -- Borden J. Best, 73, died Saturday.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Salem United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neil Wingfield officiating. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Best is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cox Best; two daughters, Phyllis and husband, Tom Umberger of Wilson, Diane and husband, Dan Andolsen of Clayton; one son, Jeff and wife, Laura Best of Kenly; seven grandchildren, Jake and Josh Best, Joseph and Daniel Andolsen, Adam Blevins, Whitney and Casey Umberger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Minnie Best, and one brother, Orvin Best.

Family will greet friends after the memorial service at Salem United Methodist Church, after the graveside service at Hopewell, and other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
