GEORGE YELVERTON SR.
The funeral for George W. Yelverton Sr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. James Disciples of Christ Church in Fremont. The Rev. J.O. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Yelverton is survived by two sons, George Yelverton Jr. of Queens, N.Y., and Ivory Joe Yelverton of Goldsboro; six daughters, Joyce A. Yelverton-Hassell, Diane F. Carson of Norfolk, Va., Margie F. Yelverton-Turner of Smithfield, Lorice Yelverton Worrells and Virginia Dale Yelverton-King of Goldsboro, and Lavohn Yelverton-Houston of Melbourne, Australia; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethelene Y. Lewis of Goldsboro and Mabelle Edmundson of Wilson.
The viewing hours will be from 2 until 8 today at Lightner Memorial Funeral Home. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of Lorice Worrells, 5117 Wayne Memorial Drive, and the funeral procession will line up there at 10:15 on Friday morning.
