EMMA BRISCOE
LUCAMA -- Emma Virginia Briscoe, 79, died Monday at Wilson Medical Center.
She was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Irene Sasser.
She is survived by five daughters, Connie Crumpler, Bonnie Hughes, Dottie Boyette, Kim Briscoe and Pam Bailey; three sons, Cecil R. Thompson, Tommy Briscoe and Doug Briscoe; two sisters, Genevieve Davis and Jeanette Rains; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Thursday night at 7 in the chapel of Thomas-Yelverton Funerals and Cremations in Wilson. The Rev. Bill Braswell will officiate. Burial will be on Friday morning at 10 at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service on Thursday night.
