VIRGINIA BROWN

Mrs. Virginia Edens "Mimi" Brown, 81, of Raleigh, formerly of Goldsboro, died Saturday at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Dr. William Hufham officiating.

A native of New Hanover County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Ruth Plott and Johnie Edens and the widow of Chauncey Brown. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She had worked at Naomi's Hair Stylist and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Brown and wife, Rita, of Greensboro; daughters, Nancy Stroud and husband, Mike, of Raleigh, Anne Wessell and husband, Eddie, of Raleigh, and Sally Domingue and husband, Joe, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Beth Jones and husband Eugene, Michael Stroud and wife Leigh Ann, Paige Hartley and husband Andy, Christopher Stroud and wife Jennifer, Andrea Wessell, Bryan Wessell, Jennifer Hill and husband Chris, Jamie Borum and husband Tyson and Matthew Sugg and wife Danielle; 13 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Johnie Edens of Wilmington and Don Edens of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Brown, and a brother, Charlie Edens.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the home of Eugene and Beth Jones, 212 Mint Court, in the Rosewood community.

Funeral arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
