BERTHA T. WAITLEY

ALBERTSON -- Bertha Mae Turner Waitley, 75, 943 Woodland Church Road, died Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Linwood Boyette and the Rev. Haywood Harrell officiating. Inurnment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and was a retired communications clerk employed in civil service. She was the widow of Clarence C. "Larry" Waitley and was the daughter of the late Charlie William and Alice Hudson Turner. She was a former resident of Goldsboro.

She is survived by a son, Don Waitley of Parkton; a daughter, Linda Waitley Kornegay, and husband, Carl W. Kornegay Jr. of Albertson; a sister, Elizabeth Turner Crumpler of Belfast; two brothers, C.W. Turner Jr. of Patetown and David Turner of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Karla Kornegay Grady and husband, Doug and Larry Waitley Kornegay and wife, Hope of Mount Olive, Clarence Clinton "Clint" Waitley and wife, Katie of Laurinburg, and Julie Ann Waitley Beavers and husband, Stacey of Ft. Bragg; eight great-grandchildren, Evan Curtis Brock, Logan James Kornegay, Griffen-Jase Waitley Kornegay, Karley McKay Kornegay, Taylor Waitley, Trenton Waitley, Aaron Beavers and Morgan Beavers; and several cousins including Dianne Stainback and Nora Frances Grady of Seven Springs.

Flowers are welcome. Memorials may be directed to the Lupus Foundation.

The family will receive friends and relatives Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the home of Carlie and Linda Kornegay, 941 Woodland Church Road, Albertson.

Arrangements are being handled by Tyndall Funeral Home.
