HERMAN E. WHITMAN

WARSAW -- Herman Earl Whitman, 80,died Wednesday morning at Guardian Care of Kenansville.

The funeral will be held today at 7 p.m. at Community Chapel of Community Funeral Home, 1654 Hwy. 24/50 East of Warsaw with the Rev. Robert Bandy officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Devotional Gardens, Hwy. 24/50 East of Warsaw.

Born April 1, 1924, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Whitman, Whitman was the widower of Mary Elizabeth Price Whitman. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of Unity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Whitman Edens and husband, Randy of Kenansville, and Ellen Whitman Matthis and husband, Wayne of Faison; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at other times at the Edens home, 103 S. Country Cub Dr. of Kenansville.
