EARL BROCK

PIKEVILLE — William Earl Brock, 64, of 192 Heritage Road, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late John Wesley Brock Sr. and Mittie Sutton Brock. Mr. Brock was retired from the United States Navy. He was a poultry farmer and loved doing community carpentry work. He attended regularly at Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Thick officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Brock is survived by his wife, Linda Bonham Brock; his daughters, Joan B. Stafford and husband, Curtis, Debbie B. Jones and Tony Jones and Lynn B. Strickland and husband, Ben, all of Pikeville; grandchildren, Christy Stafford, Steven Jones, Kaitlyn Stafford, Dana Jones, Taylor Strickland and Brock Strickland; his sister, Sue Brock Lewis and husband, Rudolph of Goldsboro; a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Bogue Brock of Eureka; a mother-in-law, Marie Bonham Ezzell of Goldsboro; a brother-in-law, Jack Ezzell and wife Diane of Goldsboro; and a sister-in-law, Betty Ezzell Moore of Goldsboro.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Wesley Brock Jr.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1080 Gurley Dairy Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his residence.
