HOPE P. SMITH

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Hope Price Smith, 76, of 255 Vann Smith Road in the Pricetown community, died this morning at her home.

Funeral services will be held at Tyndall Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Olive on Thursday at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Anne Sims and the Rev. Walter Gaskins officiating. Visitation will follow the service. At other times, the family will be at the home.

Committal and interment will be in Pineview Cemetery on Friday at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Smith was a long-time member of Zion United Methodist Church at Pricetown and served as its pianist for 58 years.

She is survived by her husband, David Vann Smith of the home; a daughter, Diane Smith Thomas of Goldsboro, widow of Jimmy Thomas; a son and daughter-in-law, David Brian and Rita Smith of Pricetown; four grandchildren, Brad Allen Herring, Kari Diane Herring, Tanner Brian Smith, and Bailey Blair Smith; three sisters, Faith Price Wilson of Mount Olive, Jackie Price Myers of Greensboro, and Jeanne Price Gibbs of Benson.

She was also the mother of the late Gary Vann Smith; sister of the late Janet Price Watson, and daughter of the late Eason W. and Viola Grady Price.

Flowers are welcome; however, donations in her memory may be made to Wayne County Relay for Life, American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are in the care of Tyndall Funeral Home Inc.
