SELMA -- William Spruill, 78, died Monday at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Warren Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Lionel Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Selma Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Spruill of the home; daughters, Pearnell Lane of Pikeville, Willie B. Spruill of Smithfield, Retha Parker, Lelia Spruill and Clara Pearce of Kenly, Pennie Richardson and Aggiretta Spruill of Selma and Clora Brown of Fayetteville; sons, William Spruill of Selma and Rounald Spruill of Pikeville; stepsons, Henry and Jerry McNeil of Selma, Elmore McNeil of Micro and Jimmy McNeil of Raeford; stepdaughter, Dorothy Beaty of Selma; sister, Ruth Jones of Goldsboro; brothers, Emmanuel Spruill and Nathaniel Spruill of Pikeville and David Spruill of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and 44 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be from 2 until 7 p.m. on Saturday at R.L. Sanders Funeral Home, 806 E. Market St., Smithfield.
