STELLA SAMPSON

DUDLEY -- The funeral for Stella Jane Sampson, 85, of 107 Royal Drive, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church. Elder Joseph Williams Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery in Clinton.

Mrs. Sampson died Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was the daughter of the late Ashley and Lula Best Cox.

Her survivors include three sons, Raymond Sampson of Clinton, Howard Sampson of Philadelphia, Pa., and Matthew Sampson of Dudley; two daughters, Viola Rich of Dudley and Doretha Bannister of Nanjemoy, Md.; four brothers, John Cox of Faison, Coriunthian Cox of Long Island, N.Y., Anthony Cox of Goldsboro and James Cox of Manhatten, N.Y.; four sisters, Ella Mae Avery of Faison, Lillie Sampson and Katie Baggett of Faison and Alice Elbon of Baltimore, Md.; and 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The viewing hours will be from 3 until 5:30 today at Garris Funeral Home and the family will be there to receive friends from 4:30 until 5:30. At other times the family will be at the home of Viola Rich at 107 Royal Drive in Rollingwood Estates.
