JAMES PEACOCK

James Clifton Peacock, 89, of 388 Buck Swamp Road, died Friday at Britthaven Nursing Home.

The funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Salter officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.

A native of Wayne County, Mr. Peacock was the son of the late James C. Peacock Sr. and Ida Mae Perkins Peacock and was married to the late Thelma Seymour Peacock. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years. He was also Past Master of Goldsboro Masonic Lodge #634, a member of Sudan Temple and the Sudan Temple Wrecking Crew and a charter member and past president of the Golden K Kiwanis. Mr. Peacock was an avid ham radio operator and retired from Sears & Roebuck after 25 years of service.

He is survived by his son, George S. Peacock of Raleigh; a sister, Virginia Peacock White of Cumming, Ga.; three grandchildren, George Kelvin Peacock and wife, Sue, James Lynn Peacock and wife, Kim, and Amy Peacock Samosky and husband, Paul; and four great-grandchildren, Allison Peacock, Molly Peacock, Lisa Peacock and Davis Peacock.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Grange Renovation Fund, 2706 Salem Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
