HELEN McWHORTER
Mrs. Helen Brohard McWhorter, 83, of 107 Shamrock Road, died Friday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
A native of Weston, West Virginia, she was born on March 13, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Alta Posey Brohard. On April 28, 1943, she was married to Max C. McWhorter, who preceded her in death on April 27, 1998. Mrs. McWhorter was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church, a fifty-year member of Weston Chapter #40 Order of the Eastern Star and a fifty-year member of Royal Neighbors of America.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rose Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Pat Ellis and husband, Bill, of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Cindy McIntire and husband, Dennis, of Junction City, Oregon, Brian Ellis of Goldsboro and Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Bernece, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Johnson.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 until 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
