David Dietrich was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for the Arts Council of Wayne County recently. He is a retired Air Force veteran who volunteered at almost 36 events, wore costumes to match the theme of the events, served dinner at the Valentine's Day event, greeted guests during the Mystery Masterpieces fundraiser and designed and built an entry for the Peep Show. He also provides housing to out-of-town musicians and collected hundreds of dollars in pledges for the Pink Plunge. Dietrich has also sponsored various art exhibits. Also recognized was Karin Thompson as Board Member of the Year, and Martha Kornegay received the Art Educator of the Year award.
