A teacher at Dillard Middle School was struck several times as she attempted to break up a fight inside her classroom Tuesday morning.

Information obtained from a police report stated that two female students were fighting and their classroom teacher tried to break up the fight and was stuck multiple times by both students. The school resource officer was notified, removed both students from the classroom and called their parents.

Wayne County Schools Public spokesman Ken Derksen said that the teacher did not sustain any injuries and continues to perform her regular teaching duties.

Privacy laws prohibit releasing disciplinary actions that may have been taken at school.

Police are expected to file charges on both students.
