Two face meth charges after authorities receive numerous drug complaints over a six-month period

Two people are facing charges after Wayne County sheriff's deputies pulled them over leaving their house after numerous drug complaints from neighbors over the past six months.

Bryant Cansler, 32, of 579 Cox Pond Road, Mount Olive, is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, two counts possession of a methamphetamine precursor, felony maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and parole violation.

Somer Herring Hill, 35, of the same address, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, two counts possession of a methamphetamine precursor, felony maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A press release said neighbors in the area lodged multiple drug complaints against Hill and Cansler over the past six months.

Deputies were following up on a recent complaint on the pair when they pulled them over leaving their house Saturday.

During the stop, deputies found multiple items of contraband, including marijuana and meth pipes, and charged Hill for the possession of these items.

Patrol deputies then spoke with members of the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team and got a search warrant for Hill and Cansler's residence.

They executed the search warrant Sunday, and found multiple items of contraband and drugs, as well as a stolen firearm.

Cansler was also wanted for a parole violation and had reportedly been on the run for three months.

Hill was given a $50,000 bond on the charges, and Cansler received no bond.
