Two men escaped injury after an argument ended in shots fired Friday night in the 1200 block of Edgerton Street.

Police were able to arrest the men accused of shooting at the victims once the suspects returned to the scene of the crime several hours later.

Brandon Jaleel Cobb, 23, of 804 N. Herman St., is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Charles Edward Fryar Jr., 25, also of 804 N. Herman St., is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and no operators license.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of Edgerton Street at about 10:50 p.m. Friday when ShotSpotter, the city's automatic gunshot detection system, alerted them to seven rounds being fired in the area.

The victims of the crime said they were arguing with some people when one of the people they were arguing with pulled out a handgun and shot at them before fleeing the area.

They were not injured.

Officers returned to 1207 Edgerton St. several hours later, at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning, in reference to a suspicious vehicle and the people being back at the victims' residence.

Police found the vehicle and stopped the car in the 800 block of North Herman Street.

An investigation into the incident gleaned enough information for officers to arrest and charge Cobb and Fryar for their alleged involvement in the argument and shooting Friday night.

Police seized two firearms from the car the two men were in.

Cobb was given a $10,000 secured bond, while Fryar was given a $5,000 secured bond.
