Man attacked with knife

A man was leaving work early Saturday morning when another man jumped from behind a dumpster at IHOP on North Berkeley Boulevard, swung a knife at him and called him a punk, according to a police report.
The 58-year-old victim told police he was leaving work when a black man wearing a red bandana over his face a light-colored ball cap, a gray long sleeve shirt and green pants jumped out from behind the dumpster and started swinging a knife at him, according to the report.
The victim ran away while the assailant ran toward the Central Heights Road, according to the report.
