Police charged a man Tuesday in connection to a shooting that happened in early 2016 at 1731-B E. Holly St.

Malcolm Jamal Russell, 24, of 714 W. Chestnut St., is charged with two counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or moving vehicle, level four driving while impaired and misdemeanor probation violation.

Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, said nobody else had been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Carmon said the shooting happened in January 2016, and added nobody was injured as a result.

The warrant for Russell's arrest  alleges he shot a .40 caliber handgun seven times into the front and back doors of 1731-B E. Holly St. while two people were inside.

Carmon said though nobody else has been arrested in connection to the shooting, he does not know whether Russell acted alone or was in cahoots with other people.

Russell was put into the Wayne County Jail under a $242,000 secured bond after being arrested at 506 Creech St., according to his arrest report.

Carmon said he did not know how Russell's alleged involvement in the shooting was discovered.
