A man is facing a felony charge after allegedly trying to run his girlfriend over with his car Thursday night, according to a police report.

George Ricky Wilson, 31, of 225 Everittsville Road, Dudley, is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

The report said Wilson saw his girlfriend driving in the 1700 block of South Slocumb Street and the pair got into an altercation.

A press release on the incident said Wilson pulled his girlfriend from her car, and then tried to run her over.

Wilson's girlfriend ran into the parking area of 1708 S. Slocumb St., the report said, and Wilson allegedly drove at her with his car at a high rate of speed and tried to run her over, then left the scene.

The report said Wilson's girlfriend reported the incident to police.

Warrants were secured on Wilson, and he was arrested a short time later at 109 Colonel Warrick Road in Dudley with help from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, according to his arrest report.

Wilson was put in the Wayne County Jail under a no bond hold.

Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, did not immediately return a phone call seeking further details about the incident.
