Non-profit organization Academic Abundance, Inc. is all about offering people a chance to work toward a better life, and is helping victims of domestic violence improve their chances for success.
Academic Abundance is sponsoring a "dress for success" clothing drive to support Wayne Uplift. The group is accepting donations of work and interview-appropriate clothing until Sunday, Oct. 31, at a number of locations around Wayne County.
Michele Wiggins, executive director of Academic Abundance, said the drive has been very successful so far. "I promised them a truck load, and I think we're going to be able to deliver on that promise," she said.
Drop-off locations are at any BB&T bank branch in Goldsboro, City Hall, the Wachovia/United Way office on Ash Street, the Academic Abundance office on Berkeley Boulevard and at the Mount Olive College student center.
The group is accepting donations of clothing for men and women of any size, as long as it is work appropriate attire. Accessories such as shoes are also accepted. All of the clothing will go directly to Wayne Uplift.
