Duplin officials pursuing death investigation

The Duplin County Sheriff's Office is investigating a body discovered Thursday on Woodland Church Road.
Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace said he could not yet release information about the person's identity or details about the circumstances of how the person died.
"Right now it's just a death investigation. Someone was found who passed away," Wallace said.
At this point, sheriff's deputies are treating the case as a death investigation, he said.
The Sheriff's Office officials are currently attempting to locate the victim's next of kin.
