PREP VOLLEYBALL: Patnaude, Thomas spearhead CBA's home win

PIKEVILLE -- Sophomore Abbey Thomas and junior Victoria Patnaude morphed into beast mode at the net during Charles B. Aycock's 25-23, 25-17, 25-21 conquest of Hunt on Monday afternoon.
Thomas logged five blocks and hit .722 for the match -- 13 kills on 18 swings with two errors. Patnaude posted a team-best seven blocks and turned in a .769 hitting effort with 10 kills on 13 swings and one error.
Daelyn Brock and Lydia Butler posted seven kills apiece for Aycock, which had 38 kills as a team. Brock emerged as the defensive leader with 17 digs, while Thomas registered 16.
Jenna Oliver handed out 19 assists. Mckenzie Norris passed out 17.
The Golden Falcons (7-7 overall) swept an opponent for the fourth time this season and extended their win streak to a modest three games.
