Basketball -- CBA rips Hobbton, 72-28, for Kenny Bass title

NEWTON GROVE -- Senior guard Eli Batts scored 16 points on Friday to pace Charles B. Aycock's 72-28 waltz over Hobbton in the championship round of the Kenny Bass Holiday Invitational.
The victory moved CBA to 6-7 on the season.
Batts was also named the event's MVP, and was joined on the All-Tournament team by fellow senior Rakilen Butler.
CBA is idle until a Jan. 3 matchup with ECC 3A foe Eastern Wayne.
