Jala Holloman's 24 points were not enough to propel Wayne Country Day past Eastern Wayne in the championship game of EW's newly-formed holiday invitational on Friday.
Lillian Freeman also added 10 points for WCDS, who fell to 10-3 on the season.
"We played hard against a well coached Eastern Wayne team," said WCDS head coach David Flowers. "Lexi got into foul trouble and we just couldn't seem to do anything inside anymore... The girls fought throughout the whole game and playing in that tournament will help us finish out the season."
Holloman's play earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team, where she was joined by center Lexi Jeffreys.
WCDS next sees the floor on Jan. 4 at Christ Covenant.
