Indoor Track --CBA prospers at Polar Bear Meet

ROCKY MOUNT -- Marquard Fedderson led a strong Charles B. Aycock contingent at Tuesday's Polar Bear Track Meet, hosted by Nash Central High School.
Fedderson placed fourth overall in the triple jump, marking a distance of 33 feet, 9 inches. Marie Kidd filed a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 22 feet, 21⁄2 inches.
Arlanda Faulkner secured another 55M hurdles victory, finishing with a time of 8.11 seconds -- a new school record. The senior also won the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 11 inches and the triple jump, which she conquered by recording a distance of 34 feet, 10 inches.
DeShawn Owens finished first in the 1,000M run, crossing the tape in 2:43.02, which beat his personal-best and established a new CBA school record.
Davis Carroll also ran well, securing second place in the 1,000M with a time of 3:00.81.
The 4x400 relay team of Tyler Lane, Christopher Crow, Jamar Best and Mason Bailey also enjoyed a speedy outing, logging a third-place finish with a time of 4:27.
Phoenix Williams, Tyler Lane, Michael Slocum and Hunter Bogey secured a third-place finish for CBA in the 4x200 relay, while Alana Reeves, Jacqueline Woods, Sanyia Carmichael and Denai Watkins finished third in the girls' 4x200 event.
