EDENTON -- A pair of one-timers from junior Geovanni Abrill and a follow-up blast by Daniel Aburto was all Rosewood needed on Wednesday to file a victory in opening-round play of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A soccer playoffs.
Abrill's first goal was assisted by Patrick Jones, while the second was brokered by Giovanni Nacca. Junior Jacob Smith supplied the assist on Aburto's goal.
The victory moves Rosewood to 12-11 on the season, and sets up a date with fifth-seeded Hobbton on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Newton Grove.
