* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Wayne Christian 25-20, 25-18 -- Jala Holloman collected four kills during the Chargers' road win Friday afternoon. Lexi Jeffreys contributed three kills. Cate Eagles served six aces.
Middle schools
* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Wayne Christian 25-9, 25-18 -- Whitney Hopkins served a team-high 12 aces for the victorious Chargers. Mayah Drayton registered six aces and four kills. Claire Barfield logged six aces. Mary Scott Best (three aces, one kill) and Elizabeth Johnston (one ace) also contributed to the two-set sweep. Wayne Country Day concluded the year 2-0 since the players have been promoted to the JV squad for the remainder of the season. Wayne Christian (0-3 overall) is the guest of Rocky Mount Academy on Tuesday.
