VOLLEYBALL: Herring has 16 kills, Gators slip past Saints

DUDLEY -- Kayla Herring cranked out a team-leading 16 kills as Spring Creek defeated county rival Southern Wayne 26-24, 26-28, 25-10, 23-25, 16-14 on Thursday afternoon.
Herring also served six aces.
McKinley Edmondson registered 13 assists, seven kills, four aces and three digs. Madison Sullivan had four aces, one dig, two kills and one block. Shae Odom provided four aces and handed out 11 assists.
The Gators (1-2 overall) snapped a two-game losing streak.
