* Softball: Cape Fear Christian Academy 12, Wayne Christian 2 (6 inn.) -- Elizabeth Howell cranked out a triple for Wayne Christian. Abigail Kornegay absorbed the pitching loss. The Eagles (1-5 overall) conclude regular-season play at home Thursday against Village Christian Academy.
* Boys' tennis: Wayne Country Day 8, Christ Covenant 0 -- Charlie Dees, Nolan Davis, Gray Langston, Stanley Zhan, Dylan Brown and Young Wang each claimed a singles point in the Chargers victory on Monday afternoon. Dees-Davis and Brown-Zhan each prevailed in their respective singles match. WCDS concluded the year 4-3 overall.
Middle schools
* Softball: Grantham 19, Mount Olive 0 -- Grantham pitcher Abbey Parker threw a no-hitter and retired seven MO batters on strikeouts. Parker, Allie Gurley and Sarah Game sparked the Bulldogs' offense with two hits apiece.
