Neuse Charter builds lead, defeats North Duplin

SMITHFIELD -- Neuse Charter bolted to a 22-point lead at halftime and cruised past North Duplin, 80-42, in the Carolina 1-A Conference opener for both teams Tuesday.
Schmid Romeus led the visiting Rebels with nine points. Travaye Darden and Luke Britt registered eight points apiece. Malik Cobb and Ricky Cameron provided six and five points, respectively.
North Duplin (1-3 overall) entertains Lejeune today.
