* Volleyball: Clinton d. Eastern Wayne 25-22, 25-16 -- The Warriors travel to South Central today.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Neuse Charter d. Wayne Christian 25-23, 25-15 -- Wayne Christian (2-9 overall) concludes regular-season play Friday at Christ Covenant.

* Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Arendell Parrott-Academy 25-18, 25-13 -- Graysen Jeffreys recorded seven aces, four kills and one assist in the Chargers' straight-set sweep of the Patriots. Cate Eagles contributed four aces and five assists. Lexi Jeffreys (3 aces, 2 kills, 1 assist), Katie Strickland (2 aces, 1 kill, 2 assists) and Summer Daniels (5 kills) also contributed in the win. The Chargers (8-1 overall) entertain Neuse Charter on Thursday.

* Boys' soccer: Rosewood 5, Grantham 0 -- Patrick Jones and Hayden Maldonado punched in two goals and handed out one assist apiece for the Eagles. Tanner McKeel chipped in a goal. Kyle Matthews handed out an assist. Rosewood (3-4-0 overall) plays host to Greenwood on Wednesday.

* Volleyball: Grantham d. Rosewood 23-25, 25-22, 25-16, 28-26 -- Sydney Reiss put down four kills during the Eagles' four-set defeat. Rosewood (4-3 overall) entertains Greenwood on Wednesday.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Goldsboro 25-21, 25-11 -- Jala Holloman emerged as the Eagles' offensive leader with three kills. Braylee Butts contributed two kills and two aces. Maddie Honn pounded out two kills. Toree Marak served a team-high six aces. The Eagles (8-5 overall) play host to archrival Princeton today.

* Volleyball: Wayne School of Engineering d. Eastern Wayne 20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18, 15-8 -- Leslie Lanier served a team-best 12 aces in the Titans' comeback win. Abby Allen served up eight aces. Haley Phillips supplied five kills. WSE improved to 5-2 overall this season.

* Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Greenwood 25-9, 25-12, 25-8 -- Amanda Haggerty, Alissa Price and Shae Odom helped lead the Gators to their sixth victory in seven outings this season. Spring Creek is the guest of Mount Olive on Wednesday.
