Kickoff is 7 p.m. for each game.

In boys' soccer, bitter archrivals Wayne Country Day and Greenfield meet today in Wilson. The junior varsity game starts at 5:30 p.m.

County athletics directors said four games remain on schedule for Friday -- New Bern at Southern Wayne, Eastern Wayne at South Central, Spring Creek at Lakewood and Farmville Central at Goldsboro.

North Duplin (1-3 overall) enjoyed a bye week. The Rebels got a chance to heal some injuries, and continue to work with an inexperienced group of freshmen and sophomores.

"(JP) Payton is coming off an injury. He had a break in (his) pinky finger in Pender game," Martin said. "He stepped in there. He'll be able to do some good things."

Martin knows the remedy for his senior quarterback/running back Payton -- and the rest of the team for that matter.

"We prepare week in and week out," Martin said. "We're teaching them their (Lejeune) sets and watching film. We carry on what we're working on in practice. It's time to saddle up."
