PREPS DIGEST -- JV, middle schools

• Volleyball: Rosewood d. Hobbton 25-21, 25-23 -- Toree Marak recorded five kills, served four aces and had one dig during the Eagles' straight-set win. Braylee Butts contributed four assists. Maddie Honn provided two kills. Jala Holloman collected one kill and two aces. Rosewood (7-5 overall) improved to 5-2 against Carolina 1-A Conference opposition this season.

• Volleyball: C.B. Aycock d. Eastern Wayne 25-14, 25-18 -- Katy Price emerged as the Golden Falcons' top hitter with five kills, while Taliyah Green recorded four kills. Elizabeth Lively, McKenzie Norris (nine digs) and Daelyn Brock each served two aces. Green posted two solo blocks. Hannah Carter distributed eight assists.

• Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Wayne Country Day 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 -- Amanda Morrell logged five kills, while Ashton Cobb supplied three kills. Yasmyne Vann served four aces. Lauren Stallard and Abi Harrellson contributed three aces apiece. Adelyn Worling emerged as the Eagles' defensive leader with 10 digs. Stephanie Drott picked up five digs. Wayne Christian (7-3 overall) visits Spring Creek on Monday. Graysen Jeffreys led WCDS with five aces, one kill, eight digs and one assist. Kyara Drew had five aces, two kills and four digs. Cate Eagles recorded two aces, four kills, eight digs and five assists. Madison Britton (4 kills, 2 digs), Jaden DisDier (1 ace, 1 kill, 1 dig) and Lexi Jeffreys (2 kills, 1 dig, 1 assist) also played well for the Chargers. Wayne Country Day (4-8) travels to Greenfield on Tuesday.

• Volleyball: Princeton d. James Kenan 25-12, 25-9 -- The Bulldogs improved to 8-5 overall and 6-1 in Carolina 1-A Conference play.

• Volleyball: South Lenoir d. Goldsboro 25-12, 25-18 -- The Cougars return home Monday to face county foe Rosewood.

Middle schools

Volleyball: Rosewood d. Dillard 25-13, 25-10, 25-19 -- Leslie Marak served 12 aces in the Eagles' straight-set win. Rosewood (4-2 overall) is the guest of Grantham on Monday.

Football: Norwayne 8, Eastern Wayne 0 -- Blake Dilda completed a 50-yard touchdown scoring pass to Alijuan Moore in the Cobras' win. Dilda, Xavier Eutsey and Tyler Hughes paced the Norwayne offense. Defensive leaders were Julian Smith, Noah Honrine and Seth Shephard. Moore and Eutsey each picked off an Eastern Wayne pass. Norwayne (3-0 overall) visits Spring Creek next Thursday.

Boys' soccer: Rosewood 9, Dillard 0 -- Patrick Jones recorded a hat trick (three goals) for the Eagles. Kyle Matthews provided two goals. Hayden Maldonado and Giovanni Nacca recorded one goal and one assist apiece. Tanner McKeel and Caleb Reyes also scored a goal. Jeremias Castanada dished out two assists. Logan Mitchell, Tyler Jordan, Cameron Daniels and Carl Blevins each had assists. Rosewood (2-4-0 overall) travels to Grantham on Monday. Dillard exited 0-6-0 overall this season.

Volleyball: Norwayne d. Brogden 25-13, 25-5, 25-16 -- The Cobras remained unbeaten in six outings this season.

Boys' soccer: Norwayne 10, Brogden 1 -- The Cobras climbed to 2-2-2 overall this season. They continue play at home Monday against Dillard. Statistics from the match were not submitted.

Volleyball: Wayne Country Day d. Wayne Christian 29-27, 25-18 -- Lexi Jeffreys paced the Chargers with four service aces, nine kills, five digs and two assists. Summer Daniels contributed five aces and seven kills. Graysen Jeffreys supplied five aces, two kills, two digs and two assists. Katie Strickland registered two aces, three kills, three digs and five assists. Cate Eagles had four aces, two digs and nine assists. The Chargers improved to 7-1 overall and visit Arendell-Parrott Academy on Monday. Wayne Christian (2-8 overall) is the guest of Neuse Charter the same afternoon.

• Volleyball: Wayne School of Engineering d. Greenwood 25-16, 25-9, 25-11 -- Nadia Coles served 15 aces in the Titans' victory. Garyn Taylor recorded eight aces. Leslie Lanier put down four kills. WSE (4-2 overall) visits Eastern Wayne on Monday.

• Volleyball: Spring Creek d. Eastern Wayne 25-11, 25-11, 25-16 -- Virginia Edmondson, Amanda Haggerty, Alissa Price, Emily Dupuy and Shae Odom led the Gators on offense. Spring Creek (5-1 overall) is the guest of Greenwood on Monday.

• Boys' soccer: Wayne School of Engineering 4, Greenwood 3 -- Connor Pate and Edward Reese scored two goals apiece for the Titans. Wayne School of Engineering improved to 4-2-0 overall this season.
