Coor, Spurgeon, Sawyer spark Gators on the road

PRINCETON -- Spring Creek's three, four and five hitters -- Allen Coor, Chad Spurgeon and Sawyer Smith -- combined for nine of the Gators' 16 hits in an 11-5 victory over Carolina 1-A opponent Princeton on Wednesday.
Smith doubled and drove in four runs. Coor had two RBI and Spurgeon added an RBI to the cause.
Logan Miller got the start on the mound for the Gators. Will Rouse, who threw 4 2/3 innings in relief, who got the win. Rouse surrendered six hits, two earned runs and struck out three.
Tanner Flowers got the loss for Princeton. Flowers, Matt Daughtry and Tyler Beasley each had two hits for Princeton.
Spring Creek (3-3 overall, 3-0 CC) plays Rosewood on Tuesday. Princeton (5-4, 3-1) is the guest of North Duplin on Tuesday.
