Thornton mashes HR, Eagles thrash Wildcats

Callie Thornton had three hits including a home run as Rosewood defeated Carolina 1-A opponent Hobbton 16-3 in a five-inning, mercy-rule victory Tuesday.
Freshman Macy Tyndall and sophomore Mackenzie Little each were a perfect 3-3 at the plate. Carrie Ann Beckert added two hits.
Hailey Weeks recorded her first win of the year in the circle, and Callie Thornton shut the door in relief.
Rosewood travels to James Kenan on Thursday at 5 p.m.
