* Boys' basketball: Asheville Trailblazers 46, Goldsboro Heat 41 -- Josiah Simmons earned all-tournament accolades with 14 points as the Heat fell in semifinal-round play of the NCHEAC state tournament Friday. Gavin Portela contributed 10 points, five steals and three assists. Harman Kaler provided seven rebounds and seven points. Goldsboro concluded the year 15-7 overall.
