Atkins' just misses double-double in Saints' season-opening loss

SMITHFIELD -- Zaria Atkins' 23 points and seven rebounds weren't enough as Southern Wayne dropped a 56-53, season-opening loss to Smithfield-Selma on Tuesday.
Cierra Thompson had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Saints.
Southern Wayne plays host to Cleveland on Thursday.
