Christopher pumps in 21 points, EW girls win season opener

VANCEBORO -- Tianna Christopher scored 21 points to lead Eastern Wayne past West Craven in the Warriors' season opener on Thursday evening.
Sophomore Treycie Ford chipped in 10 points and three steals.
The Warriors had 28 steals and 10 blocked shots as a team, and committed just nine turnovers. Naheria Hamilton led the team with seven blocks, and Megan Mozingo had seven steals.
Shontel Monk had eight points, three rebounds, four assists and six steals.
The Warriors (1-0 overall) play host to North Lenoir on Monday at 6:30 p.m.
