Goldsboro sweeps Hobbton in volleyball

Goldsboro nearly gave away the first set against Hobbton, but battled through it claimed a 26-24, 25-19, 25-20 non-conference win over Hobbton on Wednesday evening.
After being up 22-18 in the first set, the Cougars gave away the lead before scoring the game's final four points to get the win.
Alexus Davis led the Cougars with 10 kills, six digs, two blocks and three aces. Becka Pittard added seven kills, three aces and one block.
Matti Rose Lyon and Angelina Nacca combined for 15 assists. Lyon and Maddie Jara combined to serve nine aces.
Goldsboro (7-2 overall) launches its Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference season today against North Lenoir.
