Beddingfield escapes Goldsboro, 6-4

Goldsboro surrendered all six runs in the third and fourth innings combined, and fell 6-4 to Beddingfield on Wednesday evening.
Damon Pate led the Goldsboro offense with one hit, two RBI and a run scored. Cayce Herring and Kenny Stempien each had two hits in four tries. Herring added a double and Stempien drove in a run.
Jared Howard endured the pitching loss giving up six earned runs in three innings of work on four hits. He struck out two and walked seven.
Miguel Lugo came on and pitched three scoreless innings in relief. It was his second straight game allowing no runs in relief work.
Goldsboro (1-8 overall) travels to Kinston on Friday.
