WCDS cross country teams each place 6th at state meet

PLEASANT GARDEN -- The Wayne Country Day boys' and girls' squads each placed sixth in season-ending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A championship meet at Hagan-Stone Park.
Jason Jones emerged the boys' top finisher with a 16th-place effort of 19:45. Jackson Warren was 25th. David Huang took 30th. Stone Wang and Conner Shaw ended up 37th and 38th, respectively.
Kevin Xie and Suraj Patel also competed for the Chargers.
In girls' action, Margaret Tanner placed 17th for WCDS. Teammates Sally Zhang and Tanner Crawford crossed the line in 22nd and 28th place, respectively.
