MOC men, women drop respective season-opening matches

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Mount Olive College goalkeeper Aleksandar Drobac recorded nine saves in his first collegiate appearance, but Francis Marion logged the game-winning goal in the 71st minute during a 1-0 win Thursday evening.
It was season opener for both teams.
Simon Nett collected the lone goal for FMU, which owned a decisive 21-3 edge in shots.
The Trojans (0-1-0 overall) play host to Anderson (S.C.) University on Sunday. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at Amon Field.
Women fall
BUIES CREEK -- Campbell University scored twice in a four-minute span and handed the Mount Olive College women's soccer team a 6-0, season-opening loss on Thursday evening.
MOC freshmen keepers Katie Batson and Stephanie McCoy combined for nine saves.
